Editing Assistance Across Multiple Formats

You’ve come to the right place for copy editing and proofreading for books, articles, webpages, blog posts, or whatever else you’re creating.

In this self-publishing world, how often have you picked up a book from Amazon and found it filled with typos and grammatical errors? Even books from name-brand publishers have an occasional typo.

No matter what you write, an editor is an invaluable part of your publishing process. I’d love to help you inspire your readers by adding the final polish to your creative work.

Content Editing

What is content editing?
Content editing focuses on the flow of words and ideas as well as the technical aspect of writing. It is the step in the editorial journey that concentrates on how well your ideas are conveyed. Are they clear? Could they be better organized?

What does a content editor do?
Content editors read through your manuscript with an eye for pointing out sentences or concepts that could be stronger. They also do all of the functions of the copy editor such as ensuring your writing is clear, consistent, and logical so readers can follow the meaning and syntax of every sentence. An excellent content editor ensures that your voice remains intact while occasionally restructuring sentences and substituting weak word choices for stronger ones.

My content editing service offers a thorough check for:

✒️ suggestions, as necessary, on how to streamline the presentation of information at the chapter and paragraph-level

✒️ suggestions, as necessary, for tighter phrasing and clearer sentence structure at the sentence-level

✒️ discrepancies in storyline/character details

It also includes a full copy edit which includes:
✒️ punctuation, spelling, and grammatical errors
✒️ typographical errors and word use inconsistencies
✒️ accurate verb usage
✒️ errors in sentence structure and overused or omitted words
✒️ redundant words or phrases
✒️ proper spelling of names and places

Starts at 4.5¢/word

Copy Editing

What is copy editing?
Copy editing focuses on the technical aspect of writing. It is the step in the editorial journey that concentrates on the mechanics of language—sentence structure, spelling, grammar, inconsistencies in style, as well as minor content feedback—and does not address challenges with plot, pacing, character, or flow.

What does a copy editor do?
Copy editors make sure writing is clear, consistent, and logical so readers can follow the meaning and syntax of every sentence. An excellent copy editor ensures that your voice remains intact while occasionally substituting weak word choices for stronger ones.

Copy editors help you say what you mean.
Copy editing focuses on clarity and precision. For your readers to follow along with every point you make, your manuscript needs to be grammatically correct, use understandable syntax, and be free of spelling errors. Copy editors also flag or fix any gaps in logic and confusing sentences.

My copy editing service offers a thorough check for:
